The Mec Show, the largest metal-mechanics and industrial innovation fair in Espírito Santo, is organized by the Union of Steel Plants and Electrical Material Industries (Sindifer) and by the Espírito Santo Metal-Mechanical Development Center (CDMEC).
With the theme “Investments and Opportunities”, the general manager of the Ubu Complex, Alysson Werneck, highlighted the actions developed by Samarco since its restart, the expectation of investments for the unit and the innovative project on the use of the waste of marble mining in the production of pellets.
“For this year, we expect investments of approximately BR 200 million in the Ubu Unit. We innovated in our way of carrying out mining differently, because by implementing the study for the use of marble mining waste as an input for pelletizing, in addition to limestone, we deliver improvements for society, the environment and also for our customers”, he emphasized. The general manager of Procurement at Samarco and general coordinator of Prodfor in 2022, Ailana Vilela, gave a lecture on “The challenges of the supply chain and the innovation of Industry 4.0”.
“In recent years there have been numerous challenges for the supply chain, impacted, above all, by external factors, resulting in volatility to the market and restricting the supply of inputs and materials. The ESG theme is a reality that will be increasingly present in relationships and in the supply chain, seeking a more sustainable mining. Samarco, through programs such as Força Local and Prodfor, has been moving in the right direction in this area”, evaluated Ailana.
During the awards to the reference suppliers in safety indicated by the purchasing companies, Lindomar Mesquita, Occupational Safety manager at the Ubu Unit, paid tribute to the contractor Vitória Industrial.
