With the goal of strengthening ties with the communities where it operates, Samarco created “Samarco Comunica,” a digital channel developed specifically for residents who want to receive relevant information about its operations and the remediation actions carried out in the region, directly on their phones. The goal is to ensure that official news about operations, remediation, compensation, new districts (Novo Bento Rodrigues and Paracatu), environmental initiatives, among others, reaches communities in a clear, fast, and personalized way, according to each person’s interests and specific location.
This channel was created to make it easier to access general information about Samarco that relates to residents’ and communities’ day-to-day lives. To receive the information, the user must click here or save the number +55 (31) 98358-1388 in their contacts, send an initial message via WhatsApp, and answer a few questions to subscribe to the channel.
It’s important to interact with the channel periodically to keep receiving messages, in line with WhatsApp platform rules. If the subscription is not completed, the information will not be sent.
“Samarco Comunica is another tool available for citizens to access official information about the company. The channel allows users to receive direct updates on actions being carried out, complementing the communication channels that already exist within the company’s communications structure with the communities and territories where it operates,” says Danielli Gaiotti, Samarco’s Corporate Communications Manager.
Samarco Comunica uses automated flows to deliver messages, with no human support, and is therefore not intended for handling requests, requirements, or questions about individual cases, which continue to be handled through other official channels, such as Customer Service (0800 033 8485), Contact Us, and the Information and Service Centers (CIAs)—in-person and mobile.
Security
The processing of the data collected for subscription (first name, last name, phone number, city, and neighborhood) fully follows the guidelines of Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD). The information is used exclusively to segment news by location and profile, with no sharing with third parties, except in the event of a legal requirement. If the user no longer wants to receive messages, they can simply send “Quero Sair” at any time.
