Impulso Rio Doce project trained individual microentrepreneurs and microbusinesses in the region, generating tools for entrepreneurship

In order to promote digital transformation in small businesses over the Rio Doce Basin, Samarco offered training and advice to 240 individual microentrepreneurs and microbusinesses in the socioeconomic area of influence of its remediation actions, from Mariana, in Minas Gerais, to Linhares, in Espírito Santo.
The project also provided financial support for the acquisition of essential tools and resources that generated concrete and measurable results in business digitalization.
Individual consultancy was a core pillar of the project. “We helped entrepreneurs build their action plans with the goal of improving business performance, meeting digital consumer needs, and ensuring relevance in a constantly evolving market”, explains Paula Braga, Samarco’s Transition Coordinator.

The topics discussed included the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business through Chat GPT to optimize processes and increase productivity. The conclusion of Impulso Rio Doce is part of the Transition actions under Samarco’s purview after the New Rio Doce Agreement.
Remediation
Ever since the breach of the Fundão dam, one of the remediation fronts focused on the socioeconomic development of the entire affected territory, seeking the recovery of local economy and the development and training of entrepreneurs. In this front, nearly five thousand people have benefited from courses, training, and programs like the Impulso Rio Doce project, set out in the New Rio Doce Agreement, exceeding the mark of 198 million BRL invested.
