Document maps tourism supply and outlines the development plan for the municipality, supported by Samarco and built in partnership with Guarapari em Ação (GEA) and IFES.
The city of Guarapari took another step toward strengthening its main economic vocation. This Wednesday (10), the Guarapari Tourism Supply Assessment was officially delivered during an event held at Sesc. The initiative is the result of a joint effort between the business movement Guarapari em Ação (GEA), the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES), the Municipal Government, and Samarco.
The Assessment consists of a Tourism Governance Plan, a Communication and Positioning Plan, and a Tourism Training Plan. The drafting of the document was supported by a R$ 300,000 investment from Samarco, made available through the company's Institutional and Social Investment Policy (PIIS). The technical work involved the collaboration of consultant Ludmila Dutra do Souto Gatti and the direct engagement of the IFES incubator teams from the Guarapari and Venda Nova do Imigrante campuses, ensuring methodological rigor for the survey.
Donovan Navarro, from Samarco's Institutional and Government Relations Department in Espírito Santo, highlighted the importance of the initiative for the city's future. “For us, supporting the construction of this Tourism Assessment goes far beyond an institutional sponsorship; it reaffirms our commitment to the socioeconomic development of the region where we operate,” he stated.
Navarro also emphasized the vision of sustainability and collaboration that guides the company's actions in the territory. “For Samarco, conducting mining differently means looking beyond our operations. It means supporting structural projects that positively impact people's lives in the present and the future, such as this assessment. And the legacy we seek to leave cannot be built alone. The success of this work in economic development and people’s lives is achieved through collective effort and depends on the joint and ongoing collaboration between the public sector, the private sector, and society. I congratulate IFES for the technical rigor of the work and GEA for the initiative,” he highlighted.
An overview of the tourism potential
The Tourism Supply Inventory consolidates the municipality's main attractions, allowing detailed consultations on natural resources, cultural aspects, lodging facilities, events, and listed heritage buildings. The document recognizes tourism as a historical driver of local development, highlighting icons such as the Radium Hotel — which is preparing to take on a new role in knowledge generation and exchange — the religious tourism legacy left by Father José de Anchieta, and the consolidation of regions such as Praia do Morro, Enseada Azul, Meaípe, and Praia d'Ulé.
In addition to the traditional coastline, the assessment points to the integration between the beaches and the mountain region, especially along the Buenos Aires route, as a strong driver of socioeconomic growth. The area has been attracting high-end lodging, restaurants, and enterprises, strengthening the entire local production chain.
