Samarco offers in-person consultations to answer questions from individuals and companies interested in joining the PID.

Residents of Mariana and Barra Longa will have a new opportunity to have their questions answered about the Definitive Compensation Program (PID). Samarco will offer community outreach programs to instruct interested individuals on eligibility criteria, required documentation, and the steps to join the program.
In Mariana, this service will be provided at two locations. On July 22nd (Wednesday), from 9 am to 2 pm, the team will be at the square in front of the Cabanas Basic Health Unit, located at Rua Diamantina, 368. On July 29th (Wednesday), also from 9 am to 2 pm, service will be available at the Convention Center, located at Avenida Getúlio Vargas, 110.
In Barra Longa, the community outreach event will take place on July 23rd (Thursday), from 9 am to 2 pm, at the Barra Longa City Hall, located at Avenida Capitão Manoel Carneiro, 165.
During these outreach events, people will be able to have questions answered about how the program works, to check whether they meet the eligibility criteria, and to receive guidance on the necessary documentation for enrollment. The PID is the main compensation initiative set out in the New Rio Doce Agreement and will remain open for enrollment until August 15, 2026.
The reopening of the platform is an attempt to broaden access to compensation for eligible individuals and legal entities that had not yet joined the program, as well as those whose applications were terminated due to an invalid power of attorney. Individuals who were previously unable to reach an agreement due to missing the deadline for correcting identification documents or proof of address, missing the deadline for accepting the proposal, or having their previously submitted proposal rejected on the platform may also participate.
Since reopening, the PID has already recorded more than 12,000 requests, 8,400 agreements signed, and 5,500 payments made. In total, the program has already compensated more than 310,000 people, with BRL 11.4 billion allocated in compensation. The benefit provides for individual payments of BRL 35,000 for eligible individuals and legal entities.
Samarco emphasizes the importance of interested parties seeking information through official channels and taking advantage of the Q&A sessions to clarify any questions about their situation in the program.
