The company is providing in-person assistance to guide residents on eligibility criteria, required documentation, and the steps to apply for the PID
Residents of Linhares will have the opportunity to have questions answered about the Definitive Compensation Program (PID). Between July 28th and 30th (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), Samarco will be holding a Q&A session at the Linhares Municipal Market, from 9 am to 3 pm.
During the event, teams will be available to provide guidance on eligibility criteria, required documentation, and steps for joining the program. The PID is the main compensation initiative set out in the New Agreement and will remain open until August 15, 2026.
The reopening of the platform is an attempt to broaden access to compensation for eligible individuals and legal entities that had not yet joined the program, as well as those whose applications were terminated due to an invalid power of attorney. Individuals who were previously unable to reach an agreement due to missing the deadline for correcting identification documents or proof of address, missing the deadline for accepting the proposal, or having their previously submitted proposal rejected on the platform may also participate.
Since the program reopened on May 18, 2026, the PID has already recorded more than 13,200 new applications, 9,100 agreements signed, and more than 5,600 payments made. By June 2026, over 310,000 people had already received compensation through the PID, totaling BRL 11.4 billion in payments.
