Innovative projects created by Samarco employees received awards from the company, this Wednesday (04/26), at the Annual Recognition Event. The initiative included the best ideas and projects from the Ideias de Valor and Melhoria Contínua programs. The proposals submitted were evaluated by a panel of specialists, in addition to voting by employees of the “Melhor da Galera” project. The action is part of the Innovation Movement launched last year.
“Our aim is to recognize people and invite everyone to join the Movement for Innovation. The best way to prepare ourselves is to have a strategic plan consistent with what we believe, with the choice of our automations, with the vision, mission and value that we have for the future. The engagement we see here today shows a process of innovation and continuous improvement”, emphasized president Rodrigo Vilela.
The evaluation panel included the corporate manager of Operational Excellence at Nexa Resources/Votorantim Metais, Breno Luiz França Ferreira, the senior partner of the Aquila Group, Viviane Alves Vieira, and the Project Engineer at Usiminas, Flavio Ferreira Policarpo.
The projects presented were selected by an internal committee. Of the 13 Ideas of Value program solutions, six were awarded in two categories: one for higher education professionals and five for employees of the operational technical group. Of the eight projects in the Continuous Improvement program, five received the award.
Movement for Innovation
The initiative reinforces the company's mobilization to advance in its purpose of making mining different, more sustainable and safer. A series of actions are carried out to support employees in understanding what innovation means for Samarco, as well as to facilitate the adoption of institutional practices that contribute to new solutions. The actions of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program are part of the Movement. The implementation of the ore pipeline, filtration, the Monitoring and Inspection Center (CMI) and dam management are some examples of ongoing innovation projects.
