Samarco fosters supplier evaluation and recognition

Samarco started the second cycle of the Supplier Evaluation Program, which will assess performance for the period from June 21, 2022 to June 20, 2023. The cycle will last one year, with monthly evaluations until June 2023.

The calculation of indicators will be carried out per category such as services, material, inputs and projects. The reviews will be reported to managers, inspectors and contract analysts, and made available monthly to all evaluated suppliers.

The results of this cycle will be released in the second half of next year.

“The program aims at validating the performance of suppliers during the cycle and provide opportunities to improve service and development of their processes, increasingly seeking sustainable relationships in our supply chain. Participants shall monitor their results to validate that the information provided and the documentation are up-to-date and correct”, highlighted the general manager of Procurement, Ailana Vilela.

During the evaluation cycle, 14 sub-criteria will be considered, which include financial dimensions, sustainability, technical performance and legal requirements. Throughout the program, an action plan can be drawn up for the development of suppliers that do not achieve satisfactory results or with low performance.
