Samarco participated in MEC Show 2024, held from August 6th to 8th, in Espírito Santo. The event is considered the largest industrial fair in the state and one of the most important in Brazil in the mining, steel, cellulose, oil, gas and naval industries. The company's leaders participated in panels and discussions on topics such as industry 4.0, innovation and artificial intelligence, investments and market perspectives.
In addition to participating in the panels, Samarco received a special mention for being one of the largest purchasing companies in Espírito Santo. The recognition was given for the contribution to advances in the local supply network and the promotion of a prosperous business environment. “This recognition reinforces the commitment and dedication of our team, which strives to strengthen the industry locally and nationally,” said Operations Director, Sérgio Mileipe, who received the award representing Samarco.
The general manager of the Ubu Complex, Alysson Werneck, was one of the executives who participated in the Mining, Steel, Paper and Pulp in Brazil panel: Investments and Opportunities – What to do? Alysson presented the main figures relating to Samarco's operations and the steps necessary to reach 60% of installed capacity.
The general manager of Supplies, Ailana Vilela, discussed Samarco's strategy to work with suppliers increasingly aligned with ESG initiatives. The general manager of strategy and management, innovation, integrated mine planning and IT, Thiago Marchezi, and the manager of process engineering, automation, optimization, instrumentation and laboratories, Felipe Morato, presented the innovative strategies implemented by Samarco to integrate emerging technologies and face industrial challenges.
On the last day of the event, Samarco recognized the performance and positive impact of a supplier that contributed solutions to the business. Port manager, Rodrigo Abreu, paid tribute to Vix Logística as an outstanding company/supplier in Innovation and Artificial Intelligence.
