Samarco participated this Tuesday (28) in a business matchmaking round promoted by the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo (Findes), in Vitória (ES). The objective of the event was to introduce Milplan, a company contracted to act in an area related to the resumption of 100% of the company's production capacity, to Espírito Santo suppliers. The meeting gathered 91 companies from the State.
The expectation is that Milplan's arrival will expand opportunities in the region through the hiring of local workforce, the increase in procurement from Espírito Santo suppliers, and the subcontracting of service provider companies.
The plan for the resumption of 100% of Samarco's installed production capacity, starting in 2028, provides for the modernization of industrial plants and the expansion of the tailings filtration system, as well as the activation of two more pelletizing plants in Ubu (ES).
In Espírito Santo alone, around R$ 3.5 billion in investments are forecast, along with the generation of approximately 4,000 jobs throughout the deployment.
Between 2026 and 2030, Samarco projects the generation of around R$ 2.5 billion in tax collections associated with the company's operations in Espírito Santo.
“More than 80 Espírito Santo suppliers have already participated in this project. Companies from Anchieta, Guarapari, and Piúma are among the participants, which demonstrates the potential of this mobilization to boost the local economy and expand opportunities for businesses in the region”, highlighted Samarco's Project Execution manager, Rodrigo Abreu.
“Findes acts to bring companies together and create concrete business opportunities for the Espírito Santo industry. Meetings like this strengthen the connection between suppliers and large companies, expand opportunities for new contracts, and contribute to making Espírito Santo increasingly competitive. When we support companies to do more business, we strengthen the State's entire economy”, stated the Executive Manager of Articulation and Competitiveness at Findes, Icaro Gomes.
