Samarco participated in the Demoday of the M-Start Cycle 8, promoted by the Mining Hub, last Wednesday (Nov-23). During the meeting, the startup Getter - Amplified Industry - introduced the proof of concept developed for the challenge proposed by the company: “How to monitor standardized activities and identify behavioral deviations?”, related to occupational health and safety.
The development of the innovative solution began in July this year by the Startup team, in partnership with Samarco technicians. The activity of choice was lifting loads with crane vehicles, in the warehouse at Complexo de Germano, in Mariana (MG).
“The solution, tested in the field, makes it possible for us to identify potential deviations by professionals directly involved or not in the activity who may come close to or enter the area at risk of the load falling and; thus, alert with a sound and light warning, inhibiting the deviation. This solution can be applied on a large scale, not only in the mining segment, but in other segments”, highlighted the Occupational Safety manager at the Germano e Projects unit, Bruno Rezende Costa.
After presenting the results of the proofs of concept, the associated mining companies participated in the Speed Dating, a moment dedicated to the detailed presentation of the proposed solutions for the challenges of the M-Start Cycle 8, related to the themes of decarbonization, operational deficiency, alternative energy sources, management water, waste and tailings management, and occupational health and safety.
