Members of Residents' and Fishermen's Associations from Anchieta and Guarapari (ES) completed the course on the development of social projects, offered free of charge by Samarco, through the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Espírito Santo (IFES). The last phase of training was concluded in December with technical visits to provide consultancy to the communities.
“This training was planned to support the communities in organizing their ideas and designing their projects, since we had observed that some people had good initiatives, but they were not able to implement them”, emphasized Samarco's Institutional Relations analyst, Lídia Praça.
The course lasted two months and was divided into two theoretical modules, in addition to hands-on assistance in project construction. The initiative had the participation of 70 people from 13 communities.
The participating communities were Condados, Porto Grande, Meaípe and Residencial Beira Mar, from Guarapari, as well as associations from Belo Horizonte, and from Anchieta the communities of Goembê, Recanto do Sol, Castelhanos, Guanabara, Chapada do Á, Parati, Mãe-Bá and Ubu.
"In addition to offering this opportunity to provide support to the surrounding communities and strengthening the company's relations with them, the training program contributes to enhance relations and brings possibilities for building sustainable local programs", highlighted the representative of the Association of Residents of Belo Horizonte, in Anchieta, Leovegildo Junius Brandão Simões.
