Samarco remains firm in its commitment to remediation actions and compensation of the impacts resulting from the collapse of the Fundão dam, which will never be forgotten by the company.

The company restates, once again, its commitment to redressing damages and to the Transaction Conduct Adjustment Agreement  (TTAC) executed in March 2016 by Samarco and its shareholders, Vale and BHP, federal government, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo and other entities. So far, more than 336,000 people have been indemnified, with more than BRL 15.57 billion allocated to actions developed by the Renova Foundation, which also implements flora and fauna recovery actions, in addition to the resettlement processes that rely on the direct participation of the affected parties and the government at all stages and are monitored by the Public Prosecution Office of Minas Gerais.

With the gradual resumption of activities, in a safer and more sustainable manner, the company reinforces the fulfillment of its obligations in the social and environmental field, committed to strengthening relations with the communities in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo in which it operates and with society in general, with the generation of employment, income and tax revenue.
