Results reinforce the company's operational consistency and progress on remediation commitments
Samarco posted its results for the second quarter of 2026 (2Q26) this Friday (14). During the period, total production reached 3.9 million tons (Mt) of iron ore pellets and fines, up 4% compared to the first quarter of the year (1Q26) and in line with the same period last year (2Q25). In the first half of the year (1H26), production totaled 7.7 Mt, an 8% increase compared to 1H25.
Sales totaled 3.9 Mt in Q2 2026, a 23% increase compared to the previous quarter, reflecting the normalization of shipments after a first quarter with lower volume. In the first half of the year, sales totaled 7.1 million tons, a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The expected production for 2026 is between 14.7 million and 15.4 million tons.
In terms of safety, it maintained indicators that were better than the industry benchmarks, with no fatalities during the period. Phase 3 of operational resumption is on schedule, with licenses obtained, engineering completed, and physical progress at 10.8%.
In the remediation efforts, 1.9 billion USD were invested in the first half of the year, 100% financed by shareholders, with no disbursement from Samarco.
Samarco's Chief Financial Officer, Strategy and Supply Chain Director, Gustavo Selayzim, highlights the balance between production and sales in the quarter. "The recovery in sales after a first quarter with lower volume reflects the normalization of shipments throughout the period. We have maintained production at high and consistent levels, while closely monitoring the dynamics of iron ore prices in the international market," he stated.
The quarter's performance reinforces Samarco's operational stability and the continuity of its trajectory of gradually resuming installed production capacity.
