Samarco participated in the Mariana Economic Diversification Forum, held by the City Hall in partnership with the Economic and Social Development Agency of Inconfidentes and Alto Paraopeba (Adesiap), on December 12th. With the theme “Change is the key word!”, the event provided a wide program with lectures and exhibitions from local companies and entrepreneurs. In addition to stands with products from the local creative economy. The company was one of the sponsors of the Forum, which brought together public managers, business leaders and representative entities, to evaluate alternatives and advances in actions to foster economic diversification in the region.

“The Forum meets the assumptions established within the scope of the Support Plan for Economic Diversification (Pade), as it addresses potentials mapped for diversification, encourages important connections and delivers, with transparency to society, alternatives and opportunities that contribute to the socioeconomic development of the municipality”, highlighted Samarco’s Socio-institutional Relations analyst, Priscilla Nilo.

Pade was developed by Samarco with public authorities and civil society. The document was delivered to the municipality in 2022, with proposals divided into strategic diversification axes, according to the mapping of the municipality's potential and vocations in addition to mining.

“Acolher para Empreender” Forum

Samarco also participated in discussions about the challenges and advancements of women in the job market, during the Acolher para Empreender Forum, promoted on December 7th, by Rede Marianas Mulheres. The company is one of the supporters of the meeting, which brought together businesswomen and experts for debates, providing professional qualifications, networking opportunities and business roundtables for women interested in entrepreneurship.
