Samarco entered into a partnership with the municipality of Ouro Preto to promote cultural projects for the community. The company supported the restoration and installation works of the new Cultural Center in the district of Antônio Pereira, delivered in November, and also participated in the Art and Culture Project in Parque das Andorinhas last Saturday (Dec-09).
“We identified these opportunities to contribute to the implementation of initiatives that meet the population’s needs for cultural and recreation spaces, pursuant to our purpose of sharing value with communities”, highlighted the Institutional Relations analyst from Samarco, Guilherme Louzada. The projects were included in the Institutional and Social Investment Policy, which aims to support initiatives that generate value for the population of the municipalities where the company operates.
In addition to reviving the history of the region, the Antônio Pereira Cultural Center is used to carry out activities for the community, such as professional development courses. The venue has rooms for recreational and educational activities, exhibition and sales of local products. The Tourist Attention Center (CAT) was also installed in the unit.
Art and Culture Project in Parque das Andorinhas
The population of Ouro Preto and the region enjoyed a varied cultural program at Parque das Andorinhas. Among the activities, the event offered theater and dance shows, artistic activities, a recreation area with toys for children, an ecological walk and the Andorinha Bike Circuit. The park is home to a conservation area and stands out among the main tourist destinations in the region. Samarco was one of the partners in the action, promoted by the City Hall and the Gorceix Foundation.
