Samarco supports the renovation and expansion of health units in Parati and Ubu, in Anchieta (ES)

In total, R$ 800,000 will be transferred through a program that invests in structural actions in the municipalities where the company operates

Samarco participated last week in the signing of the service order for the renovation and expansion of the Basic Health Units (UBS) in the communities of Parati and Ubu, in Anchieta (ES). The works will be carried out by the Municipality of Anchieta and made possible through resources from the Institutional and Social Investment Policy (PIIS), reinforcing the company's commitment to strengthening public infrastructure and improving the quality of life in the territories where it operates.

In total, R$ 800,000 will be invested, with R$ 400,000 already deposited in 2025 and another R$ 400,000 in 2026, according to the progress of the works.

The works include the complete modernization of the two units, with improvements in the physical structure, overhaul of electrical and plumbing systems, renewal of coatings, roof repairs and improvements, painting, air conditioning, and adaptations focused on accessibility and safety. The works also include the expansion of care spaces, creating more functional, comfortable, and suitable environments for healthcare professionals and users.

The improvement and expansion of UBS services have long been a demand of local communities. “For a long time, residents had been requesting changes in the structure of our health unit. We are looking forward to the completion of the works and we are certain that the benefits for the community will be significant”, states Lanuci Antunes, president of the Ubu Residents Association (AMU).

For Gabriel Garschagen Gonçalves, Institutional Relations analyst at Samarco, “the support for the renovation and expansion of the Parati and Ubu UBS contributes to strengthening the municipal health network, promoting better care conditions and a better quality of life for the residents of both communities”.

The forecast is for the works to last approximately four months in each unit. The interventions will expand the care capacity, contributing to the provision of higher-quality health services to the communities.

Through PIIS, Samarco supports structural projects focused on the development of municipalities neighboring its operational units. The initiative reinforces the partnership between the company and the Municipality of Anchieta in promoting actions that generate permanent benefits for the population.
