Miner also ranked 7th on the list of large companies and 22nd on the general ranking promoted by FIA and UOL
Samarco ranked first among the Mining, Metallurgy and Steelmaking industries in the 2021 “Incredible Places to Work” award, promoted by Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA) and the UOL portal. In the result announced this Tuesday (31 August), the company, which resumed its activities in December last year, also attained 7th place in the large companies segment and 22nd in the general ranking.
"The certification recognizes our continuous effort to build a pleasant environment for our professionals, combined with good management practices and career monitoring, always with a close eye on our teams to promote an increasingly stronger organizational climate and culture", says the CEO of Samarco, Rodrigo Vilela. He points out that the recognition comes at a time in which the Company is restructuring its financial debt, demonstrating the engagement of its employees in facing challenges.
In addition to its gradual resumption, at 26% of production capacity, and the judicial reorganization process, additional challenges were posed by the coronavirus pandemic, leading the company to rethink its models and labor relations.
“In this unique period we are going through, we were challenged to develop new models and work relationships, always guided by our values. We implemented rapid improvements in technology and new organizational and operational models, with a focus on maintaining the productivity, safety, as well as physical and emotional well-being of our workforce. Our actions are guided by respect for people, on our journey towards doing mining differently”, concludes the CEO of Samarco.
For the General Manager of Human and Organizational Development at Samarco, Vera Lucia, the recognition received demonstrates that the company is on the right path in its efforts to ensure a healthy, balanced and pleasant work environment.
“Combining the company's expectations and values with the expectations and talents of each employee, we create a development cycle. Samarco is made up of people. Our purpose and values are the compass that guides our journey. We believe that it is only possible to continue evolving and transforming through people”, Vera Lucia explains.
