The initiative offered high-quality technological training in robotics and electronics to over 850 public school students in Mariana and Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais and Linhares, Espírito Santo.

In partnership with the Campus Party Institute — one of the world's largest collaborative technology experience — Samarco concluded the Include Project, which trained over 600 public school students in Mariana and Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, and Linhares, Espírito Santo. The initiative provided high-quality technological training, encouraging hands-on learning in robotics and electronics, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among children and youth across the Rio Doce Basin.
Participants had access to classes and activities covering fundamentals to provide a solid foundation for the development of experimental projects. For Samarco’s Transition Coordinator, Paula Braga, the positive outcome of the Include Project reinforces Samarco's commitment to promoting education and innovation as pillars for the social and economic development of communities.
“Students were encouraged to take on leadership roles, which made them more independent, confident, and responsible — fundamental traits for their development as active agents of change in their own realities,” evaluates Paula Braga.
Throughout the initiative, participants aged 8 to 18 had access to laboratories equipped with 3D printers, virtual reality headsets, and drones, receiving basic knowledge of programming and electronics. The "Maker" (hands-on) methodology was essential to foster practical learning and creativity, empowering students to take on leadership roles and seek solutions to technological challenges.
Include Project Highlights:
• Comprehensive Impact: Training of 850 students across three municipalities, promoting digital and technological inclusion.
• Skill Development: Students developed essential skills in programming, electronics, and problem-solving, preparing them for the future.
• Scholarship Mentors: The initiative hired and trained scholarship mentors at each hub who provided direct support to students, strengthening the local community.
• Talent Showcase: Projects developed by the students were presented at Mini-Showcases during Campus Party in São Paulo, in the 2024 and 2025 editions, providing visibility for their innovative ideas.
The conclusion of the Include Project is part of the Transition actions that became Samarco's responsibility under the scope of the New Rio Doce Agreement. General information about the Agreement is available at www.samarco.com/reparacao.
Reparation
Since the Fundão dam collapse, one of the reparation fronts has focused on the socioeconomic development of the entire impacted territory, aiming at local economic recovery and the development and training and qualification of entrepreneurs. In this front, nearly 5,000 people have already benefited from courses, training, and programs such as the Include Project — stipulated in the New Rio Doce Agreement — with over R$ 198 million already invested in these initiatives.
