At Samarco, sustainability is an opportunity to put into practice our purpose of performing a different and sustainable mining, capable of generating results and building value for society, respecting all forms of life and the environment.

Through our vision, strategy and actions focused on sustainability, we believe that it is possible to transform mineral resources into value in a sustainable and ethical manner, aiming at harmonious coexistence with host communities and other stakeholders with whom we relate in the territories.

Our desire to contribute to sustainable development is based on the conscious and planned use of environmental goods and services, mindful of the limits and capacity of regeneration of nature. Our intent is to evolve constantly, learning from the challenges and joining efforts in the search for balance between the interests of the business and the current needs of society and future generations.

In this sense, we are engaged in mitigating and compensating negative impacts, promoting the benefits of our activities and care for human relations through continuous dialogue with the players in our value chain.
